Packaging Plan for Curtain Wall Materials
Stick Curtain Wall and Aluminium Cladding Curtain Wall Materials
These curtain wall materials include glass, aluminium panels, steel components, galvanized steel sheets, fasteners, rockwool and etc. Different materials require different packaging solutions to ensure both protection and ease of handling.
Glass and Aluminium Panels
Use wooden crates for packaging. Clean the surface before packaging;
Protect the alumnium panel edges and corners with plastic protector. Separate glass with cork spacers;
Wrap aluminum panels with bubble wrap/EPE foam (bubble side facing the material surface) and secure with PE film (≥2 layers);
For longer panels, embed them in wooden frames for positioning and secure them on wooden pallets to prevent movement. Take protection measures from wind and rain based on weather conditions during transportation.
Steel Components and Galvanized Steel Sheets
Clean painted steel components and wrap them with a 3mm-thick EPE foam cushion layer. Secure them with outer wrapping film (≥2 layers).
Bundle the components to wooden pallets/steel frames using metal straps/steel bands (one strap on each side) to prevent sliding during transportation.
For hot-dip galvanized steel components and steel sheets, apply additional moisture-proof measures, such as adding moisture-proof film to the packaging.
Fasteners
Use wooden pallets and stretch film. Sort fasteners into cartons, secure the cartons on wooden pallets, and wrap the entire unit with stretch film to enhance stability. Affix a packing list to each package for ease of quantity counting.
Rockwool
Wrap rockwool with plastic film to prevent moisture and damage. Load manually to avoid compression and deformation from mechanical handling.
Unitized Curtain Wall
Customized steel stillages are used for unitized curtain wall with detailed method as follows:
Adopt a split design of "bottom support frame + side positioning frame. Utilize a modular design concept for easy installation and disassembly. Use channel steel as the main structure, designed as a partitioned flat storage rack. Consider load-bearing factors and connection with metal bolts. Place the unitized panels horizontally and secure them with packing straps, using rubber pads for positioning and protection.
Protection Requirements for Finished Products and Packages
Finished Products Protection Clean the surface of all curtain wall materials before packaging to remove dust and oil stains;
Apply protective film to scratch-prone materials like glass and aluminum panels. Protect edges and corners of aluminum profiles and steel components with corner/edge protectors;
Implement sealing and moisture-proof measures for materials with high moisture-resistance requirements, such as rockwool;
Secure unitized panels with steel frame positioning clamps to prevent collisions and displacement between panels.
Package Protection Affix a packing list to the package which includes material names, dimensions, quantities and locations for ease of handling and counting;
Regularly check the tightness of bolts for steel stillages, and ensure wooden packages are free from crack or termite damage;
Avoid sharp object scratches and heavy compression on packages during transportation;
